Our club has a number of standing committees that work closely with our club leadership to organize and manage all of our club’s activities.

Community Service

Chair: Paul Post

  • Community Service assists Club members focus on the Objectives of Kiwanis. Reiterate objectives during meetings, volunteer events, etc.
  • Coordinate club service projects with organizations that fall within the service area focuses as determined by the club while being open to new project ideas. e.g. La Causa, SafeKids, Hunger Task Force, Easter Seals.
  • Research the prospects of an ongoing and/or large-scale service project per our club goals, perhaps in conjunction with another organization.
  • Human Values provide inspirational quote for each bi-monthly newsletter.

Finance and Fundraising

Chair: Kristie Gillen

  • Finance and Fundraising raises adequate funds to support the Club’s service and administrative budget.
  • Service fundraisers include, but are not limited to: Annual Brewfest.
  • Administrative budget fundraisers include, but are not limited to: Raffles at meetings, “Fines” to members for forgetting to wear pins, etc.

K-Family Relations

Chair: Tom Heinrich

  • Key Club works with high school students. Supports and monitors community service activities at Wauwatosa East High School, in a joint effort with the Kiwanis Club of Wauwatosa. Looks for opportunities for joint action with Wauwatosa East Key Club, Longfellow Builders Club and Kiwanis Club of Metropolitan Milwaukee Nights.
  • Circle K liaison will monitor the District’s and Division’s events which our club may be able to participate in.
  • Interclub promotes positive relations with Kiwanis Clubs in the division, district, and international levels through arrangement for members to visit other clubs and invitations for other Kiwanians to visit this club.

Member Education & Program Administration

Chair: Steve Lee

  • Responsible for member education program (i.e. member spotlights, history of Kiwanis) at the 2nd meeting of the month.
  • Educates new and continuing members about Kiwanis at the club, district and international levels.
  • Updates New Member Orientation Guide.
  • Programs arranges for interesting, informative, and entertaining speakers at the 1st meeting of each month (except June, July and August). Seeks advice from members on topics, speakers, and quality of programs.

Membership Recruitment and Social

Chair: Anne Merchich

  • Social promotes fun and friendship among Club members and their families through planned quarterly social events on the 5th Wednesday every 3 months, and the Annual Anniversary celebration in August.
  • Membership Development assists and encourages members in recruiting new Kiwanians from a variety of backgrounds and vocational interests.
  • Keeps all members informed about the “New Member Recruitment Process” and updates it as necessary.
  • Maintains the Marketing Kits, and Membership Information kits for all members to hand out to prospective members.
  • Explains the role of a “sponsor” when recruiting new members.
  • Coordinates the new member mentor program and Member Induction ceremony.
  • Provide innovative ways to greet guests and members at meetings.

Public Relations

Chair: Dan “Howie” Depies

  • Public Relations use all media opportunities to promote Club and member accomplishments and activities.
  • Maintain club web site.
  • Edit and publish quarterly club newsletter.
