Thanks to everyone who came out to Jackson Park for Wednesday night’s social and 4-on-4 Bocce Ball tournament. While the green team prevailed (Tom, Darren, Lana and Liz), the Polino (sp?) or “cute little ball” definitely made way for some tough tosses. With a final score of 10-8, the red team (Keri, Lisa, Becky, Jessica and Anne) surely put up a fight against green.
Keep your eye out for an email announcing our next social in October, and definitely feel free to bring friends. Also, if you have any suggestions of socials you would like to see planned for 2006, please leave your comments here and the social committee will look into your ideas!

August 17 Meeting Minutes
It’s time for La Causa’s annual fundraiser….the Celebrity Waiters event!
This year’s event will take place Thursday, September 22nd at the Pfister Hotel. No theme has been decided yet.
As in past years, they need help with selling “chips for tips” so attendees can tip their waiters, registration, silent auction and general crowd control. Last year “celebrity waiters” included Mayor Tom Barrett, former UWM b-ball coach Bruce Pearl, and Milwaukee firefighters. It is a great event and a fabulous time! All proceeds benefit their child & family programs, including the Crisis Nursery.
